Narrative Love for Beginners (2012):
Hibino Tsubaki (Takei Emi) is a young teenage girl with a talent for styling other people's hair. Yet, Tsubaki suffers from low self-esteem and isn't very comfortable styling her own hair. She also has a tendency to dress old-fashioned. She's teased at high school because of this. One day, popular male student Tsubaki Kyota (Matsuzaka Tori) targets Tsubaki for teasing. Little Thing Called Love was a movie about a normal cheerful ugly girl later transformed into a beautiful girl for her senior, but Love for Beginners was about an insecure girl trying hard not to make any mistake who met a boy the total opposite of her (tho they share the same name).
Hatori is in love with her childhood friend Rita, but when Rita gets himself a girlfriend Hatoris world turns upside down. A girl mysteriously receives advice from her future self and as a result her group of friends, along with a newly arrived, troubled classmate, learn how to be better friends and a better community.
Love for Beginners is the second novella in the under The Hood Series. This book was a super cute, fun and enjoyable read. Love for Beginners is not just to read about Melody's love life it is for you to fall in love and read until the end. I really enjoyed the story of how two opposites try to fight off the attraction between them.
